WHY NOT SEW FOR A GOOD CAUSE?

Although we have our own opportunities for community service, we will gladly support you in fulfilling your community service requirements.

GSUSA, maintaining honor role status, high school graduation and confirmation all require community service hours. Do not forget, college applications now look for community service performed in consideration for acceptance.

So You.. also is always looking for volunteers to assist us in our many classes and events. please let us know when you would like to volunteer

Our community service opportunities:

Pads for Pets – making dog beds big and small. donations are made to local shelters

Cancer Caps – Making cancer scarves and caps. Donations are made to American Cancer Society

Beautiful Bedding – Making blankets and matching pillowcases. Donations are made to local children’s hospitals.

Service opportunity just for Girl Scouts

So You.. will help troops in their community service needs. So You… helps make PET BEDS for animals in local shelters. So You… will supply all the outer materials needed for the beds themselves. The troops have to supply all the pillows towels or bedding for the insides. This event is suitable for troops of all levels. Sewing machines will be used and no experience is necessary. This is also a great way to learn to sew on a sewing machine!

This is a two hour event. the cost is $15.00 per attending girl. This project is suitable at your regular meeting place

Don’t worry if you do not know of a local shelter. IF there is no shelter your beds can go to, they will be donated to Barks in Byram Township, NJ.
